inspiration for jewelry design
One of our customers recently challenged us to come up with a jewelry design that’s completely different than anything we’ve done before. What was unusual about this request is the fact that the customer provided us no direction as far as what they had in mind. While we enjoy being challenged to come up with something new, it can be somewhat difficult to do when the customer is unsure on what style they are looking for. To help brainstorm on some concepts, we began looking at other jewelry designers who work with exotic materials. One of the designers we found quite interesting is Yoko Izawa. Her jewelry pieces are made of soft and delicate materials such as cloth and plastic. According to a documentary on Yoko, she has interest in creating jewelry with metal but finds it too stylistically difficult. We love her work and wanted to share a few of her pieces with everyone.
